Arapahoe Basin is a great place for skiers and snowboarders of all skill levels to enjoy themselves on the front side or in the back bowls. The base elevation is 3978 m and the peak is at a whopping 4294 m. I took the Leehaiexpress lift to the top, and as soon as I got off, it started snowing and windy. After getting off the gondola, you can't see anything with all of that white snow covering everything. I experienced being blinded by snowfall and then falling down hard onto my backside--a scary experience that taught me some lessons about skiing at high altitudes!
