This weekend, I attended a Chinese New Year celebration event organized by the "Foreigners Speak Chinese Club". The members are all foreigners living in Los Angeles who love to speak Chinese and love Chinese culture. They got together for the festival, spoke broken Chinese, sang Chinese songs, played Peking Opera, performed Kung Fu with swords, ate Peking Duck, and gave out red envelopes containing lucky money--all part of the festivities during Chinese New Year.
