At the Britannia Mine Museum, visitors can wear helmets and ride the prospecting train deep into the hinterland of the mine, where the temperature inside is 54 degrees Fahrenheit. Guides will talk about early mining conditions and introduce various equipment. Besides the inside of the mine, there are many interesting places outside. A 20-story industrial building forms a church-like enclosure around one mountain side. You can also try your luck at gold panning and find your own gold.
