After work, I went to Ippudo to eat ramen. The storefront is small but the interior is spacious. Ippudo is best known for their Shirakamaru Genmai and Akamaru Shinmai bowls. These two types of ramen have names based on the color of their soup bases. Shiramaru Genmai was the first type of ramen created when Ippudo opened; it has a lighter pork bone soup base. Akamaru New Taste is an "enhanced" version of Shiramaru based on tonkotsu (pork bone) soup and thicker noodles--you can choose from super hard - hard - normal - soft noodle tenderness.
