I think the only restaurant that has managed to shine while serving simple dishes in Beijing is Jiamen Tang. I love the red bean cream pancake because it's thick, with lots of red bean paste and sweet sauce wrapped inside. But you have to be careful not to eat too much of it; it might make you gain weight!
