The best hot pot in LA/Irvine is undoubtedly "Laomadao"‼️
Every time I go to Laomadao, I'm always extremely excited! The newly opened Irvine branch was a must-visit as soon as it opened! I've tried hot pot places of all sizes in LA, and Laomadao is truly the absolute best in terms of taste!
The broth is rich and not overly MSG-laden, the ingredients are fresh, the condiments are abundant, and the restaurant's decor is comfortable. The service is attentive too! (Most hot pot places in LA tend to use a lot of MSG, and you end up needing to drink a ton of water after. But not at Laomadao!)

✅ The coriander pork balls are fragrant and unique. If you love coriander, don't miss out!
✅ The wide rice noodles are just like the ones you find in spicy hot pot dishes in China. Many places here serve narrower noodles, but Laomadao's wide rice noodles truly recreate the ones in China!
✅ I've always loved the bamboo shoots and shrimp paste!
✅ The condiments are truly complete! When I have hot pot, I usually use three small condiment plates, and here they have fresh small chili peppers (which many places don't have)! It satisfies all my condiment needs!
