Mammoth Mountain Ski Resort has 25 slopes and 175 planned ski runs. Before you go, it's best to have a friend as your instructor.
On Thanksgiving Day, we drove 5 hours from Los Angeles only to find that there was very little snow for the season.
On the first day, we went to the snow park in the afternoon and found that there were so many people that there was not even a place to park and many of the ski trails were not accessible, so we changed locations ~ the next morning we got up early and left for the main parking lot: 10001 Minaret Rd, Mammoth Lakes, CA 93546; $30 for preferred parking inside the main lodge where you can also buy tickets and rent lockers or change your gear in your car or book tickets online and change your gear in your car. My skills are very poor and can only skate on a moderately difficult course.
🎫Ticket price: Single day snow ticket between $79-$186 depending on what kind of pass you want; Beginner passes are $79 while advanced passes are $186.
🎿Track selection: There are three lodges: Eagle Lodge (very beginner friendly), Canyon Lodge (intermediate friendly), and Main Lodge (advanced friendly).
⚠️Canyo Lodge is in the middle of the three, with many beginner slopes. Beginners and intermediates can find a lane that suits them. Chair 17 goes directly to the green lane and chair 16 goes to the blue lane. From here, take it through Eagle Lodge and Main Lodge.
⚠️Eagle Lodge is relatively less crowded, and parking is a little more convenient.
⚠️Main Lodge is at the highest point, 9000 feet above sea level. It is first place to open each year and last place to close each year.
⚠️Rental snow equipment partners can choose to go to the store near village in advance, so they don't have to wait in line on snowfields when it gets busy!
