What should you eat when you visit Beijing? Of course it's roast duck! To satisfy my craving for authentic Beijing-style roast duck, I asked several of my Beijing friends for advice and finally chose Four Seasons Food Roast Duck Restaurant--a famous brand name. The chef slices the duck in front of you: only then does he bring it to your table. The skin is super crispy while the meat is tender and juicy.
The most important thing is to get there early because it is hard to get a seat after 6 or 7 pm. I got my ticket at 4:30 pm and by 6 or 7 pm there were still many people waiting.
They have a whole duck and half a duck to choose from, the half one costs 139 RMB. Before serving the duck, they will show it to you to make sure that it meets your standards. The skin of the duck is very crispy and goes well with some sugar sprinkled over it--it practically melts in your mouth!
The bun is hot, fresh, and crispy--it goes perfectly with the meat inside. The stir fried bean sprouts are also very refreshing and light--they make a nice starter dish before your meal.
Cultivated Cordyceps has high nutritional value,Although the broad bean curd has been stir-fried in a wok, it can still keep all of the mushroom's juice inside.
The online reviews for Four Seasons Congee vary; some people like it, others don't. But if you're looking for a place that serves authentic Beijing-style roast duck and other dishes, then let me tell you about a place I know...
