Taipei 💥 All-you-can-eat Hong Kong-style dim sum with Peking duck at Sheraton Chen Garden 💥
😋 Chen Garden offers à la carte options and all-you-can-eat menus. Today, we came for the all-you-can-eat Hong Kong-style dim sum, and for groups of six or more, Peking duck is offered as well.
🌟 Weekday all-you-can-eat: 1299 + 10%, tea charge: 80 + 10%
The all-you-can-eat menu has fewer options than the regular menu, and you can order 12 dishes at a time (if I remember correctly) and only place another round of orders when all the dishes are served. However, the rules are not strictly enforced, and you can sometimes inquire if you can place another order while some dishes are still being served. Here's a brief record of some dishes we tried:
🌟 Flavored stir-fry
🌟 XO sauce stir-fried turnip cake. The turnip cake is incredibly flavorful, with a crispy layer on the outside. Perhaps it was fried beforehand, which significantly enhanced the dish.
Zhenjiang sweet-sour pork rib. We had to ask twice for this dish, but it didn't disappoint—sweet and sour with a strong flavor.
Golden Sand live soy thumb roll. The squid is very fresh, but the "Golden Sand" flavor isn't very noticeable.
🌟 Hong Kong-style dim sum
Colorful shark fin dumplings. The shark fin dumplings taste great, but I can't pinpoint what makes them so. However, the fact that I was willing to order another serving amid various dim sum options speaks for their deliciousness.
🌟 Peking duck three ways
Rolled slices / crispy duck leg / fragrant smooth porridge.
The Peking duck is served with tasty sliced duck and crispy duck leg, especially the crispy duck leg, bursting with meat juices and a fantastic texture. However, the porridge is not good at all, with insufficient flavor and aroma. Everyone struggled to eat it, and no one wanted to even take it home as leftovers.
Overall, there were no disappointing dishes, and the service was good. It's just that I'm at an age where all-you-can-eat meals are getting a bit hard to handle.
