🎫Ticket: 50 yuan.
⏰Opening hours: 8:00 - 17:00.
☀️Best Season: June to August is the ideal time. The summer is pleasantly cool, while other seasons can be quite cold with significant temperature differences between day and night.
☑️ Scenic Introduction
Riyue Mountain, formerly known as "Chiling" before the Tang Dynasty, is part of the Qilian Mountain Range⛰️. Stretching 90 kilometers, it marks the boundary between the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and the Loess Plateau. On the mountain, there are attractions such as Riyue Pavilion, Princess Wencheng's Mansion, and a large prayer flag.
📖 Legend and Story
Legend has it that when Princess Wencheng entered Tibet and married Songtsen Gampo, she passed by this place. As she looked back, she couldn't see Chang'an (the ancient capital), which made her feel a pang of sadness. In her despair, she accidentally dropped the "Sun and Moon Treasure Mirror" given to her by the Empress. The mirror fell to the ground, with one half representing the sun and the other half representing the moon, giving rise to the name Riyue Mountain~
